Holden’s Situation in Baseball catchers in the Rye Essay

In the novel The Heurter in the Rye by J. D. Salinger there are many main reasons why, Holden Caulfield, acts how he truly does. Holden gets older with a fear of being an adult as well as becoming a child. While time goes forward this always appears to be Holden is stuck in the middle remaining a child, but still wanting to grow up, fearing adult life as well. Two examples of Holden being stuck between the child years and adult life, is if he uses his Red hunting hat as a safety quilt, and when this individual wants to act like an adult he does but either is actually a compulsive divagar, or acts very childish when points do not go his approach. Holden illustrates his fear of adulthood if he wears his red hunting hat. Holden has a anxiety about growing up or changing. To Holden, It really is his safety net that let us him has stopped being a child for a little bit and also act like adult.
